We are a group of smart, funny, sassy Gen X moms rockin’ out to totally radical 80′s music, hiding pictures of ourselves with mile-high bangs, refraining from kicking doctors when they say the words “Advanced Maternal Age,” and blogging about life as a mommy over 30.
The Scrivener
Shelby lives in Anaheim, California with Mouse, her 1-year-old, Train Guy, her husband, and two beagles: Scout and Digory. She spends most of her day sitting around thinking of funny things to say, and the rest of the time she can be found in the kitchen cooking bacon. Shelby enjoys reading, travel and long walks on the beach. She also likes the word “scrivener” because it sounds much more sophisticated than its more plebeian counterpart, “writer.”

The Librarian
Ruth is a married thirty-something stay-at-home mom and jack of all trades for her 4-year-old son. Long, long ago in the before times, she was a children’s librarian and later worked as a web manager and software trainer for a lobbying organization in downtown DC. She has since made the switch from East Coast to West and currently resides in Southern California where she enjoys all those sunny days where her kid can be outside instead of tearing up the house. Ruth is also a proud Cal alumnus. Go Bears!

Just found your blog and love it! I’m a 36 year old first time mom to a 5 month old and really appreciate what you’ve written – keep it coming!
Really enjoy your blog! I’m a 36 mom of an almost 7-year-old. I feel young enough to still be living in the ’80′s but old enough to have learned from my fashion and hair mistakes.
